Birthplace - Bangladesh
Age and gender

In 2011, 9% of the population born in Bangladesh were children (aged under 19 years), 75% were young adults (20 to 44), 16% were older adults (45 years and over).

Communities with different country origins may have quite a different age profile to the general population, depending on when the main groups migrated. The data provides key insights into the level of demand for age based services and facilities such as child care and aged care.

Five year age groups present a classic age profile of the population. Each age group covers exactly five years, which enables direct comparison between each group and birthplace.
